$2.15 Million
Plaintiff was waiting to make a left turn onto his private driveway when a security company employee driving a van rear-ended plaintiff’s pickup truck. Plaintiff suffered injuries to his spine in the wreck and underwent a two-level, lumbar, pedicle screw fusion. Due to post-surgical restrictions, plaintiff was unable to perform his previous job duties and transition to working as a finish carpenter. There were no skid marks at the scene, which indicated that the defendant never took evasive action. Both vehicles were totaled in the wreck. The case, which was set for trial before a jury, settled for $2.15 million.
